Nigel - General Manager

I am married to Ros, who also works in the Mustard Tree Project office, and am a member of Heartlands Church.  I live in Stratford where Ros and I also foster teenagers who are leaving care.  I love cooking and entertaining and I like dogs (but do not own one).  I am keen on gardening, enjoy watching movies and can play badminton and do indoor climbing reasonably well.  My paid work for the Mustard Tree Project started in July 1999 when I left Structural Engineering and became a support worker; my current job includes doing a lot of the paperwork, meeting with our trustees and attending other meetings but I still find time to meet with the clients (which is much more fun!).

An eternal Optimist, which does help me with the challenges of the job that I have thoroughly enjoyed for the past ten years. I am a member of Heartlands Church and my personal faith is an integral part of my working life. I have been married to Mike for the last year and we have lots of fun socialising with our now mutual friends, who fortunately for us reside in various seaside locations, both in England and abroad. I have three children and five grandchildren. I swim three times a week, read, enjoy the cinema and have a very busy but enjoyable life. I have recently qualified as a social worker and although hard work, has really added to my knowledge and skills. It has made me a far more reflective practitioner. I love being part of the team at The Mustard Tree Project. It is a real privilege to work along side people who share my own commitment and love for the people we work with.

I love family life. I am married to Martyn and have two children still living at home; Beth and Gareth. I also enjoy being a granny; you can have lots of fun then hand them back and put your feet up. I share Beth’s interest in film memorabilia and we often go away for a girlie weekend to pursue this hobby. Another of our interests is going to the theatre in London. I also try to show an interest in Gareth’s and Martyn's love of Liverpool Football Club. Martyn and myself enjoy going out to nice restaurants or just out for a drink. I must not forget to mention our cat Tia who rules the household. Last but not least I am very happy working at The Mustard Tree - life is never dull and the team are brilliant.

I love my job and being among people who are learning new skills and developing in a positive way. That goes for people who live at the project and who work here! I like having fun wherever possible. That includes going to regular comedy clubs, seeing live music and spending time with friends. My husband Allen is in a band called Meet on the Ledge, who play both locally and far afield. Our son Michael is happily studying Illustration and Animation at Southampton Institute. I am involved with an organisation called The Escape Workshop which delivers art to people in the community in a very flexible way, where anyone can participate, be creative and be part of a friendly group. I hope this little introduction helps to give a flavour of who I am and also what makes the Mustard Tree such a great organisation to be part of. I am fortunate to work with such a committed and enthusiastic team !!

I am married to Anne and we have 3 daughters. I joined the team here in June 2004 after leaving the business world (catering management for 9 years, my own transport business for 22 years and general manager of a women’s clothing business!). I love the work and the people I am working with and I am enjoying studying counselling & psychotherapy at Warwick University. I also mentor young people through Lifespace as part of my work with Heartlands. My interests include running, swimming and occasional trips to the gym (and watching planes when time allows). My Christian faith is important to me and my wife and I attend St. Matthew’s in Salford Priors where I, in the small amount of spare time I have, am a pastoral worker.

I have worked in this sector since I left school and have worked with several client groups (elderly - general and dementia, learning disability and now mental health) and started work with the team here in March 2004. I have chosen this line of work (or rather it chose me) as I enjoy working with people. My interests include going for nice walks in the country with my dog Shadow (pictured with me on a rare trip to our office) and I enjoy socialising including going to Meet on the Ledge concerts (see Karen for more info!).

I live with my partner Bet in Little Kineton and enjoy a good laugh and a practical joke.  My favourite radio show of all time has to be the Goon Show and I enjoy listening to Chris Rea and Phil Collins’ music (I’m also a closet Queen fan!).  In the past my interests have included working as a marshal at motor racing events including Formula 1.  I left my previous job of 26 years, working on a 450 acre private estate as a gardener, to join Heartlands' Mustard Tree Project team during June 2004; I now look after the project’s gardens and allotments, turn my hand to maintenance tasks, work with our clients at Heart of England Vineyard and have been happy ever since!

I’m married to Nigel and we live in Stratford.  Ever since moving here, we have had a lodger or two sharing our home with us which certainly makes life interesting.   I enjoy cooking dinners for people (especially puddings!), gardening, walking and cycling (when the sun is shining), and when it rains I am happy to read.   We have a caravan and over the last few years have spent time holidaying around England in the sunshine which has been very enjoyable.  My paid work with Heartlands started in February 1999 and over the years my work has been ever-changing.  At the moment I am enjoying mentoring young people in local secondary schools as well as dealing with the money and paperwork in the office.

I live in Stratford with my husband Gavin and have two grown up children who both live in London.  We have a faithful old pony called Jimmy who has been with us since 1988 (and he is still going!) I like hill walking and riding pillion on our latest motorbike (a Honda VFR 800 V-Tec for those of you who are into bikes) and I particularly enjoy going away to the beautiful hotel in Wales where Gavin and I were married.  I’ve had a varied career so far, which included running my own livery business. I started working for Heartlands and Mustard Tree Project in August 2005 where my job includes greeting visitors, answering phone calls and general goffering duties while also helping to produce and file the paperwork we generate.  I also make good coffee if you are passing!
